The 1931 building has functioned since its opening as Gunnison’s primary municipal facility.

Architecturally, the structure is a good local example of the Art Deco style as executed by Denver architects Mountjoy and Frewen.  The stuccoed concrete exterior is accented with cast concrete Art Deco detailing.
