Jefferson County
This small rock shelter was used intensively by prehistoric peoples from approximately 3000 BC to AD 1540-a span of 4,500 years.
The site has the potential to provide a greater understanding of the lifeways of the prehistoric people who inhabited the hogback/foothills of the Front Range, specifically addressing questions relating to settlement, subsistence, and the use of geological materials.
