Ken-Caryl South Valley Archaeological District
Jefferson County
Multiple sites, including camps and specialized activity sites, indicate an occupation period of about 4,000 years, from around 3000 BC through AD 1000.
The district has yielded and can continue to yield important information about the settlement strategies and subsistence patterns of prehistoric groups who inhabited the hogback/foothills of eastern Colorado. The district can also address questions regarding chronology and paleoenvironmental conditions.
