Colorado National Guard Armory

Jefferson County

Golden’s Colorado National Guard Armory building was constructed in 1912.  The reported 6,600 tons of local cobblestones utilized in its construction required the hauling of some 3,300 wagon loads from nearby Clear Creek.

The large, two-story building has a raised basement and is approximately 123 feet long by 52 feet wide.  The turret-top tower reaches 65 feet in height and gives the building a castle-like appearance.
