Devils Head Lookout

The site is long associated with the conservation efforts of the U.S. Forest Service in Colorado.  In continuous use since 1912, the site is the last full-time lookout in Colorado.  Devils Head was also the duty station of the first female fire lookout in America.  Helen Dowe spent three seasons as the lookout from 1919-1921.
