Denver & Rio Grande Western Locomotive No. 168

D&RGW Locomotive No. 168 was constructed by the Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1883.  It pulled trains within the D&RG narrow gauge system from 1883 until 1933, when it was retired and nearly scrapped.

At the time of its nomination the locomotive was located in Antlers Park, Colorado Springs, but was moved in 2015 with prior approval by the Keeper of the National Register to the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad rail yard so that it could be restored to service on its historic rail line, the D&RGW’s San Juan Extension.
