The D&RGW’s Burnham Shops in Denver converted a retired 1939 automobile boxcar for maintenance-of-way functions.

As RGAX-60283, it served from circa 1975 until 1997.  The car retains its 1939 exterior appearance and is a rare surviving example of a special purpose work train car designed to transport tools and equipment.
