Thornton Farm

Weld County

The Thornton Farm is comprised of 320 acres of rich farmland in Weld County near Windsor. It dates back to 1895 when Wilber Richard Thornton and his wife Jessie purchased the land from the Union Pacific Railroad. It has since been home to five generations of Thomtons, and now produces corn, alfalfa, sugar beets, barley, and pinto beans. The Thornton family is also receiving the historic structures award for the preservation of several tum of the century buildings.
