The Taylor Ranch is located north of Pagosa Springs in Hinsdale County. The ranch got started one hundred years ago when John H. Toner and his sister, Lillie Toner Johnson, who had been living in Farmington, New Mexico, brought cattle to the upper Piedra area and filed on two homesteads. John later married Margaret Brown, and the ranch is now home to their granddaughter, Jean and her husband John J. Taylor. The Taylors will also be receiving the historic structures award.
