South Cañon High School

Fremont County

The 1914 school epitomizes the rivalry between North Cañon and South Cañon and their respective school districts, which fostered a strong sense of identity and the desire for autonomy within the South Cañon community.

After the 1920 consolidation of the two school districts ended the rivalry, the building became Wilson Junior High School with the distinction of serving as the only junior high school in Cañon City for 41 years.
