Salida Public Library
Chaffee County
The 1907 library was built as part of Andrew Carnegie’s nationwide, philanthropic, public library movement.
It represents the community’s efforts, most notably those of the Tuesday Evening Club, to provide a suitable structure in which to house a public library. It is architecturally significant as an example of the work of two prominent Colorado architects, Charles Thomas and Thomas MacLaren.
