The Prince Farm, located near Lafayette, began in 1870 when Hiram Prince came to the Boulder Valley and acquired 720 acres for farming and stock-raising. When Hiram died the farm was equally divided among his six children. Today, only the farm he gave to his son Louis has remained in the family. Louis passed his farm on to his daughter, Lillie, who willed 80 acres to her daughter Vauna Hartnagle, who, in turn, passed  it on to her daughter Thelma Bishopp. The family will also be receiving a historic structures award.
