Vern Schrack came to Stoneham, Colorado in 1917 to homestead 160 acres.
He and his wife lived on the original land for 56 years before selling it to the current owners, his granddaughter and her husband, Gary and Kay Dollerschell. They have kept the original homestead house in the yard—a reminder of the love of two people and the land they loved through good and bad times.
