Meadow Park Shelter House

Boulder County

Built in 1933, the shelter’s design is typical of WPA construction.

A view of the building from a corner with overhanging gabled roof with chimney in the back of the long house and open door way in front. Near the entrance stand two metal drums on either side. In the foreground is a dusty field and tree and hill in the background.

Meadow Park Shelter House

It was constructed with water, sand, and rocks from the nearby river; timber and sheeting from area lumber mills; and labor supplied by the workers of Lyons.
