The next farm, which is located near Genoa in Lincoln County, is know by the family simply as "Homestead Farms." It began as a homestead established in 1893 by Karl Wilhelm and Augusta Schmidt Martin. The farm passed from mother to daughter, with the family name changing from Martin to Berndt to Beedy. Today, Gloria Berndt Beedy runs the operation with her husband Raymond Beedy and their two sons, Steve and Gary. The Beedys will also be recipients of the historic structures award.
