George Jackson House

Ouray County

This 1887 house is a good local example of the combination of the popular late 19th century Queen Anne and Italianate styles.

A view of the red brick house from an angle with cross gabled roof and chimney on top. On the first floor is a covered porch next to a bay window and on either side of the picture are two trees.

The house is associated with community planning and development activities in the Ridgway / Ouray area.  It also served as the Ouray County Poor Farm for twenty-three years.
