The building is a fine example of an early-twentieth-century, mid-rise hotel with small commercial businesses occupying the first-floor storefronts. The hotel supported the economic growth of the neighborhood by attracting residents and increasing commercial activity in the area. The Italian Renaissance Revival-style building was one of Quayle’s first commercial projects in Denver. He went on to become a prominent architect with several substantial civic and commercial developments in San Diego, California.
