Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad Coach No. 280
Jefferson County
Built by Jackson and Sharp, Coach No. 280 was placed in use by the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad in 1881. Its service ended with the Denver & Rio Grande Western on the Durango to Silverton route in 1951.
It is one of only two surviving Jackson and Sharp manufactured passenger coaches in Colorado that essentially retain their original configuration. At the time of its nomination, the coach was located in Central Park, Boulder, but was moved to the Colorado Railroad Museum in 2001.
