This 1905 Neo-Classical brick building, with terra cotta trim, is an excellent local example of the architecture associated with the City Beautiful Movement.
The building is also significant for its association with the efforts of the community to establish a public library and with the nationwide public library movement funded by Andrew Carnegie.
