Baughman Ranch

Jefferson County

The Baughman Ranch in Jefferson County's Golden Gate Canyon was first homesteaded in 1886 by Joseph Jully (Ully), Sr. The original 80 acres homestead was expanded when an adjoining 320 acres was purchased in 1906. In the early years, the Jullys raised cattle and hogs and produced milk and eggs. Produce was sold weekly in Central City. Today it is run exclusively as a cattle ranch by Joseph Jully, Sr.'s granddaughter and her husband, Lena and Wayne Baughman. An old hog home dating back to the turn of the century still stands on the property.
