Snowbound Strength
Horses in the Rocky Mountain Winter
Snowy mornings are different for Todd Bacon. While some of us see uninviting flurries and pour another cup of coffee, Bacon sees an opportunity. Camera in hand, he sets out at dawn to create evocative images of horses in this harsh environment. For him, standing knee-deep with hardy horses in the snowy pastures of Grand County, Colorado evokes primal emotions about the forces of nature. For Snowbound Strength, Bacon captures this timeless feeling through his photography.
Attracted to Colorado for its outdoor lifestyle and scenery, Todd Bacon moved to Denver in 1977. After his retirement in 2019 from a thirty-eight-year career in business, he chose to concentrate on his diverse outdoor photography. Bacon has been active in the arts community for many years, having been involved with major art exhibitions for the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts and the Colorado Scholastic Art Awards.
