Safe at Hands-On History
We know that safety is one of the top considerations when choosing care for your child, and never more so than during a public health crisis. History Colorado's museums are ready to begin welcoming back visitors and we are taking extra precautions to welcome kids back to our Hands-On History camps.
- Before Hands-On History (at home)
-
- Keep your child home when showing any of the following symptoms or signs of sickness: cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, chills, muscle aches, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell
- Pick-Up / Drop-Off
-
- Parents will confirm symptom-free status every day at drop-off
- Child check-in and check-out procedures will minimize parent touching of shared items (pens, paper, etc.)
- We strongly encourage mask-wearing for all campers.
- During Hands-On History (at the museum)
-
- Groups of students will be kept together with same staff when possible all week
- Students' interaction with general museum visitors will be minimized.
- Require handwashing upon arrival and enable handwashing throughout the day
- Disinfect all high-touch areas at start and end of the day and, when possible, throughout the day
- Programming will use toys and equipment that are easily cleanable and dispose of single-use items, and those which cannot be cleaned.
- Follow clear plan / protocol to isolate staff and children who have symptoms
